Sydney’s Jack R. Reilly has been a fixture of the Australian Independent music scene for years, bringing gut wrenching and heart warming songwriting to the depths of dimly lit corners of people’s houses as well as some of Australia’s premier venues such as The Metro Theatre in Sydney and Max Watts in Melbourne. The dedicated community around Jack’s music helped to achieve two sold out performances at The Vanguard, when launching his debut album Middle Everything in 2020. In July 2023 Jack made his return to the live scene with a sold out solo show at the Meraki Arts Bar. 

Jack’s grass roots support has earned him the prized support slots of some huge international headline shows, including Hobo Johnson (USA), Kevin Devine (USA)  Gavin DeGraw (USA), Andrew McMahon (Something Corporate/Jack's Mannequin, USA), Into It. Over It. (USA) and Tiny Ruins (NZ). Jack has also found himself in good company locally, playing alongside praised Aus acts including Rat!Hammock, Bec Sandridge and Slowly Slowly, and on the revered Yours and Owls Festival line-up.

The strength and consistency of his work has inspired many of his contemporaries, such as Obscura Hail, who name checked Jack as an influence in their song Psychic Cemetery. It also caught the attention of the iconic 90s film director Kevin Smith, calling Jack’s songwriting “Ingenious.”

Securing some strong support from triple j over his career; April 2020 saw Jack R. Reilly winning  the triple j Unearthed NIDA music video competition. They produced the video for lead single from his debut album, Blood, which premiered on the ABC’s long running music video program, Rage.
