Come and see the debut performance of the Jack Attack Big Band, led by aspiring lead trumpet player Jupiter Lawson! 

An incredible night of Big Band music with young musicians from all across Sydney, featuring current and previous members of the Sydney Youth Jazz Orchestra, Arts Unit Jazz Orchestra, and several students from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. After playing in various ensembles and settings together and forming wonderful professional connections and friendships, we are excited to share a thrilling evening of music with you, as well as support such an important cause.

On May 22nd, join us for an epic night of Sammy Nestico, Buddy Rich, and many more big band classics, featuring killer vocals from Leah Reinhardt; one of Sydney’s up-and-coming jazz vocalists.

All proceeds will be directed to Behind the Bear, a charity fundraising four-year-old Jack’s cancer treatment. Jack was like any other curious boundary-pushing three-year-old until his cancer diagnosis in May of 2023. After a long battle with stage IV neuroblastoma, Jack’s treatment in Australia has almost come to an end. To lower the possibility of a relapse, Jack must undergo treatment in the US, consisting of two drugs that are the standard of care overseas but are not set to be available in Australia for at least two years.
