We Will Slam You With Our Wings
We Will Slam You With Our Wings
It’s time to sing the patriarchy into submission.
In a defiant rebuke of the ghosts of misogynists past, this inspiring operatic video installation from performer and choreographer Joanna Dudley steals from some of history’s most notoriously sexist speeches and recasts them into a feminist war cry echoing through the ages.
With an army of six young girls and one war mistress set in a series of life-sized video portraits as they perform this stirring original score, We Will Slam You With Our Wings is a show of intergenerational solidarity, strength and power that speaks to the past, the present, and the future.
We have been shown that a new order is paramount. These girls may just help take us there.
Also appearing as part of City Lights.

"Joanna Dudley’s wonderful seven channel video piece, shows again her immaculate, precise, yet raucous anarchy. "
