Gorillaz

Long before online concerts and festivals became a thing, one truly trailblazing band ruled the virtual space, seamlessly meshing music, art and technology like no other. When Gorillaz were announced as Splendour in the Grass headliners a frenzy of excitement ensued. Secret Sounds are back with more good news! Gorillaz will follow up their Splendour set with headline tour dates in Sydney and Melbourne Virtual band Gorillaz is singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, guitarist Noodle and drummer Russel Hobbs. Created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. A truly global phenomenon, Gorillaz have achieved success in entirely ground-breaking and unique ways, touring the world from San Diego to Syria, Montevideo to Manchester and winning numerous awards including the coveted Jim Henson Creativity Honor. The band are recognised by The Guinness Book Of World Records as the planet 's Most Successful Virtual Act. Gorillaz made an emotional return to the live stage on the 10 August with two sold out shows at London's O2 Arena. The performance to thank and recognise NHS frontline workers, saw the band debut all three new tracks from their new EP 'Meanwhile', the band's joyous homage to the iconic Notting Hill Carnival. The 2000 Carnival signalled the start of something big for Gorillaz with their first ever outing, a performance of 'Clint Eastwood' at the Middle Row Records sound system in Meanwhile Gardens, W10. 'Meanwhile' is three tracks in celebration of that moment and the unique and inclusive spirit of Carnival. And now the Carnival is heading down under! Don 't miss Gorillaz' first Australian dates in over a decade!
“…this spectacle of a show creates what you can only call feel-good magic.” - The Guardian UK
